The Beginnings of ODU Football:
ODU Football’s origins trace back to the early 20th century when sports began to be integrated into the educational experience. However, it wasn’t until 2009 that ODU would officially field a modern football team. The anticipation leading up to the inaugural game was immense, with excitement reaching fever pitch as the Monarchs prepared to take the field for the first time. Under the guidance of head coach Bobby Wilder, the team quickly surpassed expectations.
